Tahuna House | FAQ

1. Are the steps (down to the lake) easy to find if I’m walking back from town at night time?

a. Yes, there are lights down the steps (You just need to remember to switch them on if you’re walking into town in the evenings.)

2. Is there room to park a boat (& trailer)?

a. Yes, there is a designated (flat) parking bay behind the garage. Don’t forget you can tie-up at the jetty which is not only very convenient but saves you a lot of time taking the boat in and out at the marina.

3. Do you ever run out of hot water, (with people showering a lot)?

a. We never run out of hot water because it’s all heated by gas, which is connected to the main QT gas line, (ie it’s instantaneous on a reticulated line).

4. How would we heat the place if there was a power cut?

a. Both floors have 18Kw gas heaters (which will heat the place in 5-min), plus the upper floor has a (25Kw, ie the largest) log burner.

5. Do all bedrooms have lake and mountain views. And do the beds have reading lights? (I like to lie-in in the mornings).
a. Yes they all have great views of the lake and mountains (the Remarkables can be seen from every bedroom). And yes, all beds are doubles and have 2 wall-mounted reading lights. And electric blankets in winter, (so you may never want to get out of bed…).

6. Does the servicing include as many changes of sheets and towels as we want?

a. All linen is changed at the end of your stay. Additional laundry services can be arranged by negotiation.

7. Do you have single beds and/or cots, (I notice all rooms are "doubles")

a. Yes, this can be arranged. Just email us with your requirements.

8. Do both levels have a laundry?

a. Yes, there is a laundry on both floors, (with laundry tub, WM, dryer, iron, etc). And plenty of room for sporting equipment; eg; boating, skiing, tramping etc.
